Your problems have nothing (absolutely nothing) to do with online dating. They are much more serious, personal, and close to home.

One could even make the case that online dating with its wider reach and longer "tail" (the persistence of your profile over a long period of time) than trying to meet women in a club is the ONLY reason the size of your potential match list isn't zero.

"You assume SHE'LL grow out of things, but if she's reached her forties [or fifties, ahem] and still ... "

Have you ever stopped to consider that perhaps she (or they) have made the same hopeful assumptions about you only to be repeatedly disappointed?

You're not a good person. Stop telling yourself and others that. Describing yourself as "fussy" is an understatement. You sound much closer to wildly intolerant. How do you realistically ever expect to be with someone without a little compromise here and there? I promise, it doesn't hurt.

Kids aren't annoying unless they're not raised well. If they're yours, that's on you. If they're not, move on.

Video games aren't a problem unless they're played to the exclusion of everything else.

Hate camping? Try glamping.

She likes reality shows? So what? Play video games while she watches them. Give her sh*t (tease her) about them and be prepared to receive sh*t about being a 50 year-old gamer in return.

I live with a rabid Harry Potter fan who has rearranged our kitchen so that I can literally find nothing. IMHO there is nothing worse or more pitiable than Harry Potter and his legions of fans.

BUT this woman makes me happier than anyone I've ever known in my entire life (close to 60). So I've bought her all the Harry Potter movies plus the Fantastic Beasts movies, and any time I hear about some revolting HP thing going on I tell her about it.

Finally, people who feel the need to tell others that they were in MENSA ... wow.

Moderate your likes and dislikes, and be prepared to compromise creatively, or prepare to be alone for the next 30 years or so.

Best of luck.
