And the "real" information you cite is just opinion from someone else writing on Medium without any stated credentials or experience.

Intercepting a mach 12 BALLISTIC missile (that means following a parabolic course and "moving under the force of gravity only") with a mach 4 guided weapon that is positioned in front of the mach 12 missile isn't impossible. It simply requires more advanced warning.
