Why ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence) always got to be a bummer?

The ship wants her to reconcile with the father of her child, Byr Genar-Hofoen, and allow the baby to be born."

In the post-scarcity, mostly-utopian Culture, AI Minds watch over, communicate with, and care for humans in much the way that current-day believers believe their imaginary deities do.
