"We’re letting technology destroy creativity."
Oh, good grief. No we're not.
Disney and its formulaic, tween-centered shlock factory stopped being creative LONG before the recent spate of generative AI tools. High School Musical 23, anyone? Or perhaps you'd prefer a lightly recycled, soulless Start Wars series? Yawn.
Meanwhile, here in the real world, LOTS of people are using these tools to enhance, extend, and accelerate their own human creativity. I'm sitting right next to one of them right now.
My wife is an artist, not a writer. She needs descriptions of the art she creates but struggles to generate them and HATED the entire process. Until ...
Now, she actually looks forward to and enjoys her AI-augmented writing process. Oh ,the horror. The horror.
AI tools can augment and enable our own creativity, which will continue to be just fine. WE'VE YET TO SEE A SINGLE ACTUALLY NEW THOUGHT FROM AI. It copies and synthesizes very impressively (and quickly) based on the patterns that we creative humans have laid down.
Unfollowing this nonsense.
