I write here and a lot in my work (solution architecture, which is a mix of business consulting and technical design or what most people would call "architecture"), supported by pictures (diagrams) I create.
The iterative process of drawing then writing then re-drawing then re-writing really helps me to drive out important details, make and call out non-obvious connections, dependencies, and results, and to arrive at a deep understanding of the subject matter that most people don't invest the time or focus to achieve.
I also communicate verbally, listening and asking questions, testing assumptions, etc.
It looks like you write a lot too. Could you suggest any improvements to my ideas about Considerate Communication?
