The layoffs in the tech industry are much more likely due to the disappearance of "free" money as interest rates have been raised. Companies that hired much more than they could actually afford are now being forced by fiscal reality to divest those workers.

Big, scary AI is not coming to take our jobs. Big, greedy corporations are.
