I was attracted to Medium because I liked the idea of a democratized writing and reading community, where members share their expertise, passion, and attention. It turns out to have been a good instinct. I read articles on Medium every day, along with the New York Times and other rational sources to start my day.

I'm here to learn from others, to broaden my own perspective, and to share what I've learned. Sometimes this takes the form of an article I author and publish. Sometimes I contribute by praising and sharing a particularly good piece or refuting some of the absolute rubbish that inevitably gets published here.
