I'm not sure I agree that "Artificial Intelligence is ... an ideology; — — one which presupposes a final abolition of human agency", but there is certainly a lot of truth and relevance in your observations. Great questions to consider.

I tend to look at AI as a tool -- a force multiplier and powerful potential partner that can make us more productive.

As one of your readers commented, AI is mostly math and is available in free, public, Open Source code, e.g. machine learning, neural networks, etc.

It's not all owned and operated by corporations, and anyone with an interest can learn how to create, extend, and leverage it.
