I don't understand all the bitterness and bile in some of these comments. Truly knowing someone else's intent is a fool's game. How about just dealing with what Mr. Gerstner has very plainly and publicly said?
All of this analysis and advice seems very pragmatic and reasonable -- spend a little less, focus a little more, be a little more aware of the changing market, and react accordingly. Where's the harm in any of that?
The real question, which I see no one else asking, is can Zuck get past his giant ego in order to consider this reasonable advice fairly, possibly heed it, and <gasp> respond with a sincere thank you?
