*Everyone* is NOT in debt. And yes, if you take on debt, it's your fault and your obligation to repay.
I'm tired of hearing about how students have been "saddled" with student loan debt. As if it were something that mysteriously happened to them. Who's signature is on those unread loan papers? That's what I thought.
Yes, if you choose to participate in an unregulated consumer economy, you're going to spend a lot of time on the hamster wheel, especially if you do it recklessly and without asking tough questions to be sure you know what you're getting yourself into. But that's your choice.
And capitalism is NOT unsustainable. Unregulated, unrestricted capitalism is unsustainable. Capitalism doesn't "need" to expand. Greed drives it to expand. Greed is also a choice.
