Most people I know who enjoy these substances do so responsibly, not in a life-threatening manner. Their reasons are their own, but I know for a fact that many of them have had to endure quite a bit of unhappiness. These are adults, making adult decisions. WTF is wrong with YOU?

And our (U.S.) government making some drugs legal (alcohol) and others illegal (cannabis, etc) either arbitrarily or based on age-old racial fears and stereotypes rather than on evidence and science is no basis for calling someone a criminal. That epithet should be applied to the lawmakers themselves.
