"deeply weaselly" Hahahahahaha, love it.

I do understand your concern, and I very much appreciate you differentiating and making it more clear. But I must still disagree with some key aspects.

While it's probably true that "Nobody, upon entering a bookstore, thinks to themselves 'I really want to see some content', what about the pragmatic, non-weaselly business need to deal with content that is available over more than one channel, e.g. a physical vs a digital copy of the book? The sale of one has inventory implications for the bookstore, while the other does not. They are probably sold at different prices and through different retail channels, etc.

Long before we get to the nefarious purposes of our weaselly overlords, there are very pragmatic reasons to generalize content as ... well, content, unless you have a less objectionable general term to suggest?

And re: "Nobody who comments on a Medium post thinks to themselves, 'I should add some content here.'" Perhaps not here on Medium, which is primarily a writers community, but there are PLENTY of people out there who refer to themselves as "content creators" specifically because they don't limit the types of content they create to text only.

Once again, I very much appreciate your thoughtful reply. I'm just stuck on the practical implications of implementing your suggestion.
